Wildlife biologist Liz Bonnin sets off on a worldwide journey of discovery to find out why animals of different species make friends with each other, and even fall in love.
Wildlife biologist Liz Bonnin goes on a journey of discovery to find out the science behind unusual interactions in the animal kingdom. Some of the surprising associations include a polar bear befriending huskies, a cat mothering ducklings, and an orangutan who keeps a pet dog. These odd pairings are not just limited to different species; animal relationships with humans are also explored, as people have been known to keep exotic pets such as lions, hippos and buffalos. Bonnin investigates the root of the affectionate connections and tries to uncover the reasons for the behaviours.
Some people have sought out unusual, and even potentially dangerous relationships, with some very surprising animals."

  • 32:13 dog owners be like: “Don’t worry he’s doesn’t bite”

  • Omg Aggie is amazing, makes you wonder why people can't b like that.

  • One thing I learned don’t let them sense our fear…

  • to bond with another species is one of lifes greatest gifts

  • Quite a few years ago I went to the Los Angeles zoo and came upon the rhinoceros pen. I noticed that the animals have been trimming the shrubbery surrounding the fence at the pen. I grabbed a huge branch of this shrub and waved it at the rhinos. They all came running like I had yummy treats for them. They were jockeying for position to eat the branches that I just broke off. A zookeeper came up to me and said, they love this bush so much that you have just made a new friend. I had rhinoceroses eating out of my hand and licking my fingers of the sap that came from the shrub that they loved so much. I will never forget that experience. I made some new friends non-human how bitchin.

  • Animal relaxing, nice video👇 in-cd.com/chart/v-iy/pZeojpuemJm6bpo.html

  • Listen kevin gives me very nostalgic feeling like i fucking know that man

  • Getting to close with wild animals is wasn't a good idea unless you are the keepers.. even dogs also recognize the smell of his owner..

  • She's like a kid coming back from college visiting her parents. Lol

  • Would like to join you ☺️

  • Don’t be friends with hippos guy, they end up killing you once they get older, bigger and stronger. 🙂

  • Life is extraordinary

  • I WHEEZED when i saw the Dog sleeping on top of the hippo on the Porch. "sometime's she sleeps on the Porch with the dog" T.T 14:29

  • Can humans treat animals like friends should be the proper statement!

  • This is why Whyte people will never leave Africa . Life is just toooo good 💎🦛

  • That Polar Bear is tasting Mark 😐

  • Is he imitating the fucking action by grabing and stoking lightly from back side to ascertain to be dominant male ?

  • It was amazing until the end when she made comment about evolution. It is obvious to any real scientist that intelligent design is the only possible way these creatures came into existence. Man was created to rule over and care for all of them. It was actually the original plan for us to have relationships with them. So cool that these individuals have allowed and nurtured that restoration in their lives.

    • “It’s obvious to any real scientist that intelligent design is the only possible way these creatures came into existence.” You must think dogs were walking alongside dinosaurs six thousand years ago. Lol.

  • Thank you for this beautiful insight Liz!

  • Just wonderful & so endearing. Liz Bonnin such a fab reporter, she is very in tune with all the owners, not rushing in. So brave approaching the lions. Her face with the buffalo so funny xx

  • 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

  • You're not afraid of her getting diabetes ?

  • The Buffalo one is astonishing

  • This video didn't surprised me. My brother even bonded with cockroach.

  • Im sorry but 60 stone? Anyone that can put that in to pounds or kg? That would make it much easier

  • "I was feeling weak and then I fainted shortly after." "So don't feel weak or faint?" "Yes" The lion- *MOM YOURE BOUT TO PASS OUT I CAN SMELL IT. DONT WORRY I GOT UR BACK!!!! MOMMM WAKE UPPPP*

  • 16:26 “And upstream as well.” Oh yes

  • Ok...the Buffalo casually walking through the house was just ADORABLE 🥺

  • I find it interesting she was so unnerved by the Buffalo. I feel like the lions would have been more unpredictable, or the polar bear.

  • Where Is Greta Thunberg? It seems as though the world is on the fast lane toward cleaning the car industry from polluting emissions. Everyone is rushing to create clean cars, whether battery or hydrogen powered engines, and bask in their cleanness. But the green alibi hides behind it a dirty truth: Zero emission does not mean zero pollution. Mining rare Earth materials required for zero-emissions engines, building charging stations, and the complex logistics surrounding the “clean” industries will take a heavy toll on Earth. In the end, the only ones who will gain from the “clean revolution” are the tycoons who are selling it to us, and the government officials who placate them for their own reasons. Where is Greta Thunberg these days? Like the rest of the pawns in the battle for wealth and power, the “climate knights” have sent her back to oblivion once they finished using her. It is all power games among giant corporations, but the environment and the climate are no one’s concern. Even if we switch to wind energy or ocean-wave energy, I don’t believe that we will gain much. We will have to pay for it elsewhere. For this reason, I think that the crux of the problem is not emissions, but our behavior toward nature and toward our fellow human beings. Here is where we can produce positive and lasting results. If we could communicate with one another positively, we could stop the madness of excessive development that manufactures unnecessary and harmful products. If we could slow down a bit, we wouldn’t need to burn so much fuel in order to defeat competitors in a race for wealth that makes no one happy. Only if we realize that our happiness depends on the quality of our relationships, and not on the padding of our bank accounts, we will be able to pause a little, think, and rebuild our civilization in a way that contributes to nature, to humanity, and to each of us.

  • That lion girl is beautiful!

  • Ok they are professionals... definitely leave it to them.. They are ready for fun and the RISK as well..

  • Why in creation would anyone down-vote (4.8K!!) this kind of awesome stuff??? Only .0003% of views...but...still...???

  • that it's not friendship, that is humanize animals. bullshit

  • Bear.: when I grow very old I will loose all my hair and I will look just like him..

    • 😂😂

  • This is absolutely amazing

  • My husband’s was at a park metal detecting and a crow befriends him! Followed him all around the park, checking out every hole dug and looking up to my husband crow taking all day!

  • Love your movies!

  • loved this video great work

  • A hippo... NOPE!

  • That's a female polar bear. She's only half the size of a male polar bear. Male polar bear is the biggest carnivore on land. They can hunt anything and everything, including humans, which they do hunt if arctic(if you get too close to a starving/hungry polar bear). Unfortunately, they are on the path to extinction. Wild population will be gone less than 50 years from now, unless we manage to trigger a reverse in global warming, which is only possible with aggressive means of some kind of chemical solution. Even if we completely stop greenhouse gas emission now, the world will still keep warming up to the detriment of these dying species. Sad, but that's what nature does. Nature created us as well. So, the destruction we initiate is part of natural 'mistakes' of nature itself.

  • "Roiboos tea is healthy for her"...why are South African's so weird?

  • "he won't use the bathroom in the house"..."ur..um..in the house!" I almost spit my dip out

  • Love trust confidence period . Basis of all good bonds

  • I would like to have a strong bond with the long haired brunette petting those white lions. 😜

  • Female geese and ducks can't honk

  • Watching people humanize animals is quite disturbing and is never good news for the animals in question.

  • Here on Brazil some army battalions also have trained jaguars to help patrolling the Amazon rain forest. And also some domesticated jaguars. in-cd.com/chart/v-iy/pHRoyZyrpmncp8U.html

  • I really enjoyed this, but I don’t understand the lion one. How are they going to release lions into the wild that have been raised by humans? I mean, do they know how to hunt? It just doesn’t make sense.

  • Sorry but you need to get your head checked by a medical professional stepping into a cage with a polar bear. Take it from a Canadian. They are the largest and most unpredictable land carnivore on the planet.

  • Love is the conection ❤

  • the buffalo is so so cute

  • Incredible, mind blown

  • I don't see the problem with domesticating or taming animals, we did it with wolves so what's the problem to do it with cooler things

  • Yes they'd love you over for dinner

  • Very interesting 🤨

  • dolphins are smartest animals damn helping fisherman to catch fishes haha

  • When I see these videos I remember how many humans need help 💔💔💔 we are so selfish

  • I love all of this.

  • Damn that's wild what an amazing cast of animal human relationships, and a great host, filming, audio, editing, the whole production looks quality right out the gate.

  • Cuz whenever we aren’t trying to kill them we’re actually pretty cool

  • Animals were created to establish a natural bond with humans, lose the divine gift and fear took over.

  • I think wild thing is neutered. And the bear may be spayed. Those procedures are likely a huge part of the animals behavior.

  • Through history it been known animals are GODs creatures preserved for intension of friendship companionship emotional support to mankind .

  • All amazing stories, but the dolphins at the end are my favorite. They trained humans what to do to catch the fish, not the other way around.

  • the AGGRESSION is what defies logic ! 😳

  • 🙏🙏Blessings forever GOD loves y'all too forever tell everyone you know and don't know. Jesus loves y'all too forever. Teach everyone how to see and enjoy their blessings too forever,,,

  • Not one black African or black American in the entire 58 minutes and 48 seconds of this video.

  • Bull in China shop!

  • here we have a guy who just raises bears like dogs and plays with them like this guy

  • Dear Liz Bonnin. I don´t know whether you´re gonna get to read this, but there´s one surely breath-taking relationship between different species that should be part of this amazing documentary, or next ones hopefully coming up. Unfortunately, this one is in Portuguese, once it was filmed in Brazil, but tells the incridible story of a penguin returning every year from hundreds of miles down south to be with his beloved human friend. in-cd.com/chart/v-iy/lYB2zZqSeojZgKs.html

  • Cuddling with lions is all I've ever wanted. Not if they have a British accent though...

  • Each story was amazing… Truly❣️❣️I find the dolphins, tho, to be so amazing how they are giving back to our human race and helping us to fish for food survive how culture what is the need of the fish for hanger in their village. …Also was the hippopotamus which walked right into the house to eat dinner and then turned around and left on its terms…Like I said, all of these were just amazing but the one I could not ever consider doing was the hyenas!! No way would I ever attempt that so hats off to the guy,I specially as He seemed to have revealed the most wounds!!!!’

  • why only 2 videos and content stopped?

  • Just love that polar purr... Such a sweet bear! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

  • This woman is my dream girl

  • I don't think this really got to the heart of why humans bond with animals. It only mentioned the surface of classic behaviorism. There is so much more than that. The little word "respect" means many things just among humans. Between species the meaning of that word is going to complexify almost infinitely. Humans, omnivores that we are, can demonstrate empathy with any living thing that has biological needs. Even plants. And these living things somehow know it. And it changes them. And they begin to find that same ability within themselves - even if they've never known it before. It seems to me that the relationship with the dolphins is almost exactly like our relationship with dogs. Dogs were domesticated and learned to help humans hunt more effectively because we fed them off the bounty. In the wild, other predators will fight over a kill and compete. It's us that shows an alternative. And they welcome it of their own free will. No coercion is needed. And when they discover the belly-rub, a whole new universe opens up for all of us. Bless us all. 🐶🐻🦁🐮🤗🐬🐙🐋🐱

  • this that wyte shit 💀 im not fuckin round with NO wild animals y’all tweakin tf
