Me and the boys listening to the radio in 1941
American bands in the 30’s and 40’s were the cream of the crop!!!! Glenn was classically trained, and you can see, these guys knew their instruments.
Wo ist der Sonderzug nach Pankow??
Ist das der Sonderzug nach Pankow?!
My dad was a WWII navy veteran, and all the big bands were always on, I listen still and it brings me back, such great time to be a kid, thanks dad and mom for your music!!!
when you’re watching this fondly remembering your grandparents who’ve passed a the lights dim then brighten a few times 😇😇😇😇
Whoever uploaded this is racist. Cuts off just before the blacks have their time in the spotlight.
Bruh that ain't mean they racist
To bad that the picture quality is so inferior. Only 240p!
kinda hard to get high res recordings from 40s footage. You can add 60fps "soap opera" effects to make it run smoother and look crisper, but it starts to look fake and stretched if you overdo it.
Sun Valley Serenade Chattanooga Choo Choo, minus the black parts. Got it.
Glenn Miller was a friggen legend. May he rest in peace.
i am from Randy Rhoads :)
There’s no rasicist about
Lend an ear and listen to my version of a really solid Tennessee excursion!
555 dislikes is quite astonishing to me. I see so many videos that I think are excellent and they have virtually no likes. It is quite dismaying that people can find so much energy to give dislikes.
esto que salio el otro dia?
Surely this is Benny Goodman?
those ladies r HOT
is 40 years too large a diffference ?
in tune and with wimsey
I cAN whistle
I love the big Band music lot to learn here
What teenagers would listen to in the 40s and 50s. This cool
In the 50s we were listening to rock and roll, Elvis, the Everly Brothers, Brenda Lee. But we had to play it away from our parents who hated it.
When music use to be great!
Songs back then made you feel so elated. How can music have devolved so abysmally in eighty years.
bien loin des musiques insipide d'aujourd'hui
I only know this tune thanks to Bill Bailey
Hey its my home!!
Before My Day. But I still Love this Music.
Lo que son las cosas de la vida, de la nada recordé el título de esta melodía n.n Esto me recuerda a mis padres que ya no están
Me gusta más la versión de taco
I love it!... My dad love too...He's listen this, with me, from the heaven...
*Chattanooga Choo Choo* is another genius of Glenn Miller who deserves a statue for the great good he has done to America, in particular, and to the whole world in general. in-cd.com/chart/v-iy/bJJ7xcuIn622gqc.html *AMERICAN 🔰PATROL* music b *Glenn 🎺Miller* - guitar solo version in the style of *Duane 🎸Eddy*
Merciiii je découvre en 2021-1941 wao
Wow! Loved this! And how much more wonderful music and performances they would of made! God bless and rest in peace Glenn Miller! And his band!
There's not other equal, good musicians and good sound, rest in peace in the heaven master Glenn Miller
Takes me back 70 yrs and watching my folks prance around the lounge to this music. I learned to like it!
Ist das der Sonderzug nach Pankow?
Magnifica si sentono tutti gli STRUMENTI
One of my favourite movies: *_Babe: Pig in the City_* brought me here Ferdinand the duck flying after airplane
Se rifa glen miller
This brings back a lot of memories :-) Thank you :-)
Unübertroffen! Ewigen Dank 🎶🎼🐺
February 10, 1942 Glenn Miller was awarded the first ever gold record for selling a million copies of “Chattanooga Choo Choo.” The band mimics a train rolling out of a station, then trumpets and trombones imitating train whistles.
me and the fellas listening to the radio in 1941:
I no longer what to live in this decade and I am time traveling...
My daughter was quite upset (90's). "You didn't tell us other music existed. I had to find out from friends!"
watch my video its better
Was that uncle Milton Berle?
Glenn Miller and the big band music of that time will live forever.
Love that music and the dances wow.the best
The best ever big band song...
p a r d o n m e b o y
Melody wie Udo Lindenberg sein Sonderzug nach Pankow
See the lead singer. His name should be “the teeth”
Nothing better than big band/swing. Miller, Calloway, Kayser, Dorsey the list goes on. Timeless. Rather listen to this than anything today
Pardon me boy, is that the Chattanooga Choo Choo? Track twenty nine, boy you can gimme a shine I can afford to board a Chattanooga Choo Choo I've got my fare and just a trifle to spare You leave the Pennsylvania station 'bout a quarter to four Read a magazine and then you're in Baltimore Dinner in the diner, nothing could be finer Than to have your ham 'n' eggs in Carolina When you hear the whistle blowin' eight to the bar Then you know that Tennessee is not very far Shovel all the coal in, gotta keep it rollin' Woo, woo, Chattanooga, there you are There's gonna be a certain party at the station Satin and lace, I used to call funny face She's gonna cry until I tell her that I'll never roam
dumbass comment gaming moment bruh brub hub ad. Funny comment liked
They don't call it big band for nothing. No amplifiers required with that horn section......
Glenn is a MASTER
The band brings back good memories of my father's orchestra. Growing up with the big band. I had a lot of good moments. It reminds me where I come from. miss those times. But I have to move on God definitely has a big plan for me.
I love how they imitated a train whistle at the beginning! I wish big bands where still a thing.
How many recognized the famous comedian at 2:49 in the video?. Yes that's Uncle Miltie. Aka Milton Berle.
There is seriously no way any of them ever thought this kind of music would ever go out of style.....just listen to the quality of the musicians playing it.....
this is REAL talent.. not the POS happy crap out there now..
that movie is good for the music.
‘Nat’s What I Reckon’ brought me here
I suspect modern people are afraid of history. They might want to shove everything they don't understand or like down the Memory Hole.
I was born too late.
These bands and stars visited our boys in war zones, lots of patriotism back then, what we need more of today
Love these. I remember my parents playing his records.
Hi there Sue, How are you doing today?
Ритм -это жизнь!
Anyone remember Martin Block's "Make Believe Backroon Time"? The theme song for the program was written especially for him by Harry Warren!
an almost perfect piece of popular music ..tight band and terrific harmony.
how sad that the vid cuts off just as the Nicholas Brothers are getting ready to dance. The greatest dancers to ever live. But, Glenn Miller and the cinemaphotography were pure fun!
Never gets old😊 A great song to wake up to.
Pardon me Roy. Is this the cat that chewed your new shoes?
I love other IN-cd posts of this performance sequence, but as you (as formerly US Southern theatres) cut off at start, cut out the closing bravura Dorothy Dandridge sing and Nicholas Brothers dance of it, "dislike."
They cut off the best part, with Dorothy Dandridge and the Nicholas Brothers! Here's the full version: in-cd.com/chart/v-iy/mHhz2NCFi4Gvf5Y.html
Musik die nicht sozusagen altmodisch wird
Tex Beneke looks like a goober with his hat that way
For My Folks (Helen and Blaine) and the rest of "The Greatest Generation." Swing it Jackson! I just wish America would get back on rails again. So what if train travel is "slow." Life goes by too fast. Slow down and enjoy life's ride!
Произведение и исполнение на века
Old stuff Yep, Not correct these days. Kill me and vote for Communists.
Americas favorite band
Tex what a rendition
How enjoyable this era this music was now old but Priceless ❣️
Pardon me boy, is this the Transylvania station? Ya sir Ya sir track 29...give you a shine?
Glen Miller is still missing
Love that sound.
Words you can understand and a tune you can hum! Hey miltie ignore the sourpuss girl and do your suit jive! Don't cut off the black people!
This is the Cadillac of music.
Big band doesn't get better than this.
Why cut off Dorothy Dandridge and the Nicholas Brothers, not to mention the rest of the song. Racism at it's worst.
